A VERY SPECIAL GUEST AT KC!

Erin Wise-Ackenbom walked into our Kids Club in La Cruz two weeks ago on a Wednesday.  She was outgoing and enthusiastic, and I gave her an interview right on the spot to see what she could offer the community in La Cruz.  She was only going to be visiting for 5 days but was going to come back next year.  She mentioned she was a retired school teacher in Virginia in North América.  In her retirement she finds joy teaching children and adults to swim as well as teaching yoga. She mentioned she could teach swimming to our kids on that Friday if I would like her too.  She ended up spending the day giving lessons to the morning and afternoon groups.  I interpreted for her as her language skills are still basic, but she assured me that she was going to go back to the States and continue with her Spanish lessons to be able to communicate next year.  We look forward to other elders or vacationers giving of their skills as both generations and cultures benefit when we give and take/accept and receive.  Each class ended with snacks of fresh fruit and vegetables, and Erin learned about Tajin!

WE ARE OFFICIALLY PART OF “ LA CRUZ DE HUANACAXTLE CHOIR” !

Teacher Aquiles and teacher Abraham are unlocking something powerful in our kids. With every new song and every practice, their memory grows stronger, and their hearts grow prouder. Their dedication shows in the way they show up week after week, both at the Kids Club and with the La Cruz Choir. Today, they can proudly say that Alejandra, Isabella, Luisa, Tess, Gilberto, Liam and Matias are part of the official La Cruz de Huanacaxtle Choir—one beautiful step toward forming their very own choir group. We are celebrating this moment with so much pride, knowing this is only the start of many amazing things ahead.

LITTLE BY LITTLE

Our Kids Club is growing in wonderful ways. We’re happy to share that children can now enter through the original Langosta 27 door, where their teacher will guide them safely along the protected path created by our dedicated construction team. Every step brings us closer to a warm and welcoming space made just for them.  A special thanks to Architect Irad Tellez and for making this process easy on us!
