We have been enjoying many new faces at Kids Club as visiting children and “boat kids” join us during their stay here. It makes the language classes with Mayra much more fun and interactive. We have also had many new younger children under 8 years old join the Kids Club in the last couple weeks. This is great news for the future of the Kids Club program as older children will be graduating out at the end of this school year.
We had a lot of fun this week reading, making candles, learning about dinosaurs, dancing, playing baseball, and had another special carpentry class taught by volunteers Kurt and Jamie. In this week’s carpentry project the children built and decorated their own personalized “robots”. They enjoyed the imaginative and creative activity and played with their new wooden toys.
The momentum of our fundraising event next week has been amazing and we have officially sold out. We are anticipating a full house for the event and are grateful for all the support from both volunteers who have been working behind the scenes to make it so successful.
