This week the students participated in the Feria Ambiental Dia de la Tortuga. They had a lesson and had activities related to biodiversity and the natural habitats in the region focusing on the protection of the remaining ecosystems and wildlife. Part of the culmination of the lesson was creating drawings and paintings of turtles that were submitted for a contest for the event. The fair will be held in the Puerto Vallarta Malecon on the 23rd of May where the winners of the contest will be announced. We are hoping to take a contingent of students to attend the event to represent the Kids Club that day. We are pleased to welcome a handful of new students to our morning session thanks to the promotion of the Kids Club during the dental clinic last week where many parents had a chance to see the kids Club and were made aware of the programs and benefits of participating. We will be focusing on academic support, tutoring, and English classes in the mornings.
Since the weather has become much warmer we have returned to our swim classes until the end of the term. Of course, the students are overjoyed with this activity. It is one of their favorite sports throughout the year and they benefit from the skills and exercise it provides.
