This week we enjoyed a special art project “Emociones a Través del Arte”. The children are using paint to express their feelings and explaining to their classmates the significance of their creations.
We also had an obstacle course and relay in the rhythm and movement class. The children invented a variety of ways to maneuver around the course.
The chess club is really taking off as other children become curious and are learning the game from each other. Thanks to generous donors who have provided chess sets for us.
We had a special guest, returning teacher assistant Allegra Rubboli who is giving yoga classes to the students. Kids Club is working with the local primary school on a ecology project to collect 6 pack rings to prevent them from ending up in the ocean or other areas endangering the wildlife. There will be an exchange party and raffle on June 22at the Kids club where the children will receive prizes, and have an educational discussion about the dangers of such garbage. We will also be destroying and disposing of all the rings. Thanks to Caralynn Stacey who is helping to organize this event.
