La Cruz Book Launch & End-of-Term Fun at Kids Club!

We’re thrilled to share the exciting news of our book launch celebration for “Tiburón Gelatina y Otros Relatos”, (Sharks and Other Stories) written by our amazing teacher Lilly Alcántara and presented at Amigos Sports Bar and Cocina. This beautifully crafted book is the result of a three-year project with the Kids Club students—a heartfelt collection of stories from lifelong residents of La Cruz, including fishermen, artists, founders, and other local legends.

The children conducted the interviews themselves, turning their conversations into a literary tribute to their town’s vibrant history. The event was a joyful celebration, with student performances, delicious food and drinks, and special recognition of the community members who shared their stories.

Meanwhile, our students have been wrapping up the school year with games and activities that reinforce everything they’ve learned—vocabulary matching in English and Spanish, quiz show challenges, relay races, and a spirited swimming competition!

We’re also busy decorating the foyer for our upcoming summer camp, with colorful displays inspired by this year’s themes: Earth, Oceans, and Space.
