The children are practicing Ukuleles, the advanced students are learning more chords for the piece they will be performing at the winter presentation in December. We welcomed a special guest Esau Galvan this week. He is a local  professional guitarist who came to play for the children and was the subject for the children’s’ history of La Cruz project. They interviewed him about his experiences growing up here in La Cruz. They are also creating dioramas that depict scenes of La Cruz from the past they have learned from their research.  We are having a mini Olympics for our sports activities with the children competing in a variety of track and field and relay events.
The children are eager to read the new selection of books the teachers have chosen for November. The themes for the selections this month are discovery, travel, and exploration.
