A NEW CHAPTER BEGINS! ❤️

We are so happy to be back at Kids Club!

This new chapter is full of opportunities, creativity, and learning. We are working on developing programs that help children discover their talents, build confidence, and reach their full potential.

Our vision is to create a well-rounded educational program where children can explore Music, Dance, English, Spanish, Art, and Swimming—while having fun, making friends, and discovering what they are capable of.

Every class is another opportunity to learn something new!

🎵 DISCOVERING NEW SOUNDS

This week, our music students began exploring the qualities of sound: timbre, pitch, duration, and intensity.

We also reviewed musical notes and learned more about the musical staff and treble clef, combining music with creativity through visual activities.

We then introduced aural discrimination, helping the kids listen carefully and recognize different musical elements. Through memory exercises, they practiced remembering where the notes belong on the musical staff.

Teacher Lily also helped bring movement and creativity into the learning experience, encouraging the children to connect sound, rhythm, and movement.

Learning music is not only about playing an instrument—it is also about listening, remembering, concentrating, moving, and expressing yourself.

💃 DANCE & MOVEMENT

Our dance classes are getting everyone moving!

With Teacher Lily, the children worked on left and right awareness, coordination, rhythm, and synchronized movement.

Using colorful scarves, they explored movement through space while practicing rhythm, coordination, and body awareness.

We also introduced physical conditioning exercises, both individually and in pairs, helping the kids develop strength, balance, teamwork, and confidence.

Teacher Lily is helping the children discover that dance is more than learning steps—it is a way to express themselves, work together, and feel confident in their own bodies.

Most importantly, they are having fun while learning!

🇬🇧 ENGLISH SPEAKERS

This week, we were excited to welcome Melina (Meli), our new volunteer/intern, who will be helping us with our English program.

When Director Abraham first connected with Meli, she shared her journey toward becoming an English teacher and her desire to become part of this beautiful project.

Although Kids Club already has an English program, we were especially happy to welcome local talent from La Cruz to our team.

When Meli first visited Kids Club, she was amazed to see children from our community playing, sharing, and learning together. It made her even more excited to be part of the program.

This week, our English classes focused on conversation and real-life situations. The kids practiced:

🗣️ Introducing themselves
🍽️ Ordering at a restaurant
💼 Participating in a job interview
🌎 Talking about their ideal profession

Our goal is to give children English skills that they can actually use in their everyday lives and, eventually, in future educational and professional opportunities.

👩‍🏫 MEET MELINA — OUR FUTURE TEACHER

“Hi, I’m Meli! I grew up in La Cruz, where my family runs a local bakery “Taxco” near Manzanilla Beach. Over the years, living here has given me the opportunity to connect with and learn from both locals and people from diverse backgrounds. This experience has shaped me into an open-minded person who embraces different cultures and ideas.

🎶 OUR CHOIR IS GETTING STRONGER!

We were so happy to welcome more children to our choir this week!

The kids are excited to be part of the group and discover more about the power of music and their own voices.

Teacher Aquiles continues to be an important part of this journey. His teaching style, professionalism, and passion for music are helping motivate our young singers and encouraging them to challenge themselves.

This week, the choir began working on two exciting pieces:

🎵 “Baba Yetu”
🎵 “Joshua Fit the Battle of Jericho”

The children also learned about the stories and meaning behind the pieces, making the music more than just something they sing—it becomes something they can understand and connect with.

They also began exploring vocal range and vocal control, learning how to use their voices with greater confidence.

We can’t wait to hear how they continue to grow! 🎶

🎨 CRAFTS & CREATIVITY

This week, Teacher Mayra turned learning into something the kids could wear! ⌚🎨

The children had a great time designing and creating their very own watches. They built the structure, added their own creative touches, and then brought their designs to life with acrylic paint.

But there was a little more learning behind all that painting and creativity! As they created their watches, the kids also practiced reading an analog clock, learning how to recognize the numbers, understand the hands, and tell the time.

It was a fun combination of art, creativity, and real-life learning—and, of course, everyone was very excited to show off their new watches! 😄⌚

🌱 ONE WEEK, MANY POSSIBILITIES

Our first week back is just the beginning.

Every song sung, every step danced, every new English word learned, and every new skill discovered is helping our children build confidence, creativity, and new possibilities for their future.
