Kids Club Update – Amigos de La Cruz
At the Kids Club, we love to keep things fresh and exciting for the children with a variety of creative and educational activities — though some favorites never go out of style!
In Art Class:
This week, we introduced a new project — making rag dolls! The children are learning to use patterns to shape and form the figures, choosing fabrics to create their own color and texture combinations, cutting and stitching, stuffing and filling the forms, and finally adding hair and facial expressions to bring their creations to life. It’s a wonderfully imaginative project, and the children are absolutely loving it!
In English & Language:
Our beginners are practicing colors and numbers, drawing and coloring abstract designs that help connect vocabulary with visual cues. Learning becomes much more fun when it’s creative and hands-on!
♀️ Back to the Pool:
Swimming is always a favorite! Many of our new students are just learning the basics — breath control and kicking — while our returning swimmers are refreshing their strokes and rebuilding endurance.
Ukuleles Return:
The sound of ukuleles is back in the air! New students are learning notes and tuning, while our more experienced players are revisiting chords and finger positions. Music fills the room with energy and smiles.
Every week brings new discoveries, laughter, and growth — all thanks to our wonderful teachers, volunteers, and donors who make these opportunities possible.
