One of the main objectives of the Amigos De la cruz Kids Club is to keep the kids off the street unsupervised. Classes at the school were canceled for Independence day but we still had classes at the kids club. We got to see the parade and had activities for all the kids that were out for the day. The children also had their first writing activity this week. It was so fun to see them excited to write about the book they read “El Chiquero”, a fun story about a couple of pigs learning how to keep their pigsty clean. It was also a good lesson to the kids on hygiene and responsibility for their space. We also were back in the pool learning to swim and practicing this week, yoga, and on the Ukuleles. We are having a lot of fun at the kids club!
