The children have started working on the garden for this year. They learned a lot from their project last year and know that soil preparation and amendment is very important to the success of the plants. This week they worked removing the rocks and debris and adding compost and topsoil to the planter. We are ready to start germinating our flower and vegetable seeds. The children have been creating a sculpture “zoo”, molding a variety of animals out of clay. They used this activity to learn about and differentiate types of animals such as mammals, reptiles, avians, and fish.
We continue building our Spanish and English skills playing vocabulary bingo and practicing for our winter presentation in December.
